The Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) program transforms a licensed private pilot into a professional aviator capable of operating commercial missions. This full-time program focuses on advanced flight handling, decision-making, and operational discipline preparing cadets for careers in charter, tourism, offshore, and government aviation sectors.

Training Structure
Duration : 18 Months
Structure : 850 Hours Ground + 135 Hours Flight

Phase 1: Ground School (850 Hours)
Full Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) -approved theoretical instruction with ATPL-level integration.

Phase 2: Flying Phase (135 Hours)
A structured and progressive flying sequence designed to build full competence and confidence across all fAll actual flying,no simulators. Training is conducted fully on the Bell 206 B3 JetRanger or Robinson 44. Each phase builds progressively toward commercial command proficiency.light conditions.
1. (0-40 hrs) - Advanced Aircraft Handling
​This phase introduces cadets to full control of the Bell 206 B3 JetRanger. Training covers hovering precision, slope landings, confined-area operations, and emergency procedures such as autorotation. By the end of this phase, pilots develop instinctive control, smooth coordination, and confidence in turbine aircraft handling.

2. (40-90 hrs) – Navigation & Cross-Country
​Cadets progress to route planning and real cross-country navigation. Each flight builds confidence in reading maps, managing fuel, and communicating with ATC while adapting to changing weather and terrain. This phase enhances pilot decision-making and independence under real operational conditions.

3. (90-135 hrs) – Commercial Operations & Final Check
​The final phase focuses on refining professional flying skills. Trainees conduct solo and dual commercial-style flights, perform emergency procedures, and demonstrate precision during landings and manoeuvres. The course concludes with a comprehensive Licence Skills Test (LST), certifying the cadet as a qualified Commercial Pilot (Helicopter).

Create CAAM eCLIPSE Account
​Register at https://eclipse.caam.gov.my and complete the Student Pilot Application Form. Upload your ID, SPM/O-Level results, and photo.

Wait for CAAM Approval
CAAM will review your submission and issue a digital e-Approval. LLFA can assist if you need help with the portal.

Receive LLFA Letter of Offer
Once approved, LLFA issues your official Letter of Offer (LoO) and payment structure. A RM 20,000 booking fee secures your seat.

Complete Class 1 Medical
Book a CAAM-approved DAME medical. The result will sync directly into your eCLIPSE profile.

Visa (International Students)
LLFA provides the JTKSM support letter and assists in your Professional Visit Pass (PVP) application.
06
Orientation & Commencement
After all documents are cleared and uploaded, you’ll receive your timetable, iPad courseware, and eCLIPSE login access for training and exams.
Pre-requisites
The Professional Pilot Licence Program (CPL/IR + ATPL Frozen) is an intensive training program. Before you enroll, you must:
