This program offers a conversion pathway for experienced or previously trained pilots including those from military, government, or foreign training backgrounds who intend to obtain a CAAM-recognised Civil Pilot Licence under Malaysian aviation standards.

LLFA’s Abridged Licence Course is delivered within a real operational aviation ecosystem, allowing candidates to bridge their existing flight experience with CAAM theoretical and practical standards through a shortened, focused syllabus.
Training Structure
The Abridged Licence (Conversion Course) is designed to recognise and credit your existing flight experience — whether from military, government, or foreign aviation backgrounds.
Each candidate’s ground and flight training requirements are individually assessed in accordance with CAAM CAD 1 – PEL (Appendix 5).
Your training plan will be tailored to:

Your previous licence type and logged flight hours

Recency of training and type ratings held

Civil conversion requirements set by CAAM

Typical structure: Ground Theory (approx. 125 hours) + Flight Phase (40–60 hours), subject to CAAM evaluation and candidate experience.
