Choosing a programme
Which programme is right for a beginner?
Applicants aiming for a professional aeroplane career should review the CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL pathway. PPL routes suit private flying goals, while licence holders may require an abridged or conversion assessment.
Does LLFA offer aeroplane and helicopter training?
Yes. LLFA publishes aeroplane, helicopter and Advanced UPRT pathways.
Eligibility and admissions
Do I need previous flying experience?
No previous flying experience is required for eligible beginner pathways. Conversion and advanced courses have licence and experience prerequisites.
How is eligibility checked?
Admissions reviews your intended programme, age, academic results, English proficiency, medical status, nationality and any existing aviation records.
Can international students apply?
Yes. International applicants must also satisfy the applicable immigration, student-pass and document requirements.
Training and campus
Where does LLFA train?
LLFA operates from Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh, Perak. Your programme and offer information will confirm the reporting instructions.
What is a typical training day like?
A day may include flight or simulator sessions, ground briefings, instructor consultations and self-study. The sequence depends on your phase, weather and the operational schedule.
Is accommodation available?
Yes. An optional hospitality arrangement may include serviced accommodation, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, shared amenities and scheduled transport. Availability and current terms must be confirmed with Admissions.
Do cadets wear a uniform?
Yes. Cadets are expected to follow LLFA’s current professional uniform and presentation standards during training.
Are programme durations guaranteed?
No. Weather, examinations, individual progress, aircraft serviceability, authority requirements and operational scheduling can affect completion.
